Birthday Eve

So today I have spent all day on the couch, recovering after my flatmates birthday bash or she has named it birthday eve (as in the night before your birthday). So I thought I would share wish you what I wore to the special occasion. This will be my second outfit post, my flatmates ideas. The top is actually a body con dress from h&m, the skirt I got from Spitalfields when I was in London the other week and the boots I have had for years. Think is the first time I have left the flat not dressed head to toe in black in quite some time. Hopefully it’s a sign that summer is just around the corner #wishful-thinking :)

MondayFunday

Yeah you’re right, the words Monday and fun really don’t go together but I missed Sundayfunday because well…. I’m just rubbish these days.  This post goes out to my number one fan or so I was told at a friends gig, a week last Saturday :)

Just a few of my favourite things..

After what seemed like a lifetime I finally got paid!!! First thing that had to be done, shopping!! I’m one of these people that don’t buy clothes often but when I do I tend to buy in bulk. So last Sunday I met my mum for a stroll along Princes Street. I was surprised to see that H&M are giving themselves a bit of a re-vamp; obviously felt threatened by the posh new Primark hehe! First thing I noticed when I went in was the beige wool jumper. They only had one left in a size 16 but I love buying jumpers and t-shirts big so I can wear them off the shoulder. I also gave in a finally got myself a denim shirt. I had been trying to avoid this trend, made popular by Miss Caggie Dunlop from Made in Chelsea, but I just couldn’t resist any longer. Another trend I’m a bit behind in is the coloured jean. I’ve wanted a pair for ages and I think after purchasing the super soft skinny jeans in pink from Topshop I might just end up with a pair in every colour, they are so comfy!! I can believe it but I actually bought these boots on sale in Primark, yes sale in Primark! I already have them in brown, which does look much nicer but having been reduced from £18 to £10, who could say no. They are so comfy and surprising sturdy for Primark footwear! Now I’m sure most of you girls will agree that you never feel better then when you’re wearing sexy underwear. My flatmate came home the other week and couldn’t wait to show me what she just bought from Marks and Spencers. This involved lifting up her top to unveil the bulging cleavage enhancing bra. I couldn’t look away; I instantly thought I have to get me one of those! Unfortunately there were none in my size so I opted for this little number, which girls is also cleavage enhancing and I love it!!!  Happy shopping :)

To My Wardrobes Desire

Like Christmas you wait patiently all month, then finally when you’re handed, what you have been so eagerly waiting for, you ripped it open with quick haste and there it is. I am referring to the holy day that is pay day. Well mine was today and I couldn’t have opened that pay slip faster. Money, the only thing that makes working in a job that’s so boring, waiting paint dry would be more interesting seem almost worth it.

The first thing I did when I got home, well after making an amazing steak salad wrap for tea was go virtual shopping on topshop.com. Above are what I have ear marked for my new sum of cash, and this is just from half an hour on one site! To be fair though, I rarely by clothes so when I do I tend to go mad and I can safely say I think I deserve it.

Smile A Little

Forever Young

So this is my second post of the month. I am ashamed to admit I have being committing serious blogger neglect recently.  I just don’t feel inspired or feel I have much interesting to talk about these days.  Going to a boring job 5 days a week and doing nothing with your evenings leaving little to be desired.  Stop it Zoe, no one wants to hear you moaning on.  Ok so on a more positive note, there is one thing I’m passionate about at the moment and that’s my plans to move to Vancouver!! Last night I decided as it was a nice evening to walk way half to my parents place.  Stopping on the north bridge to take in the beauty of Edinburgh, with her twinkling lights, I thought how I’m going to miss home.  I am however; ready to start a new chapter of my life.  It seems these days that everywhere I turn someone is engaged, pregnant or moving in together.  Since when were we old enough to do these things, I know I certainly am not.  In saying that I can’t seem to make a relationship last longer than a few month so all that stuff is probably a bit far off for me.  I’m just excited to move to Vancouver and meet new people, it gets to that point when you’re not doing a job you love and all your friends are moving on with their own lives that you have to shake things up and make a big change!!

The Perfect Curl With Enrapture

Well I created more of a wave but a bad workman can’t blame their tools.  My brother kindly bought me the Enrapture curling wand for my Christmas after seeing it on http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/.  I have never used a curling wand before, opting for my GHD’s.  Although the GHD’s do a good enough job it does take forever and they seem to fall out very quickly.  I’ve only tried the wand a couple of times but I really like it so far.  It has three heat setting so you can go from loose waves to tight curls.  Being a novice I have yet to perfect the technique or the timing so I’m not sure if my pictures does the Enrapture justice but I am pretty happy with the results so far.

To New Beginnings

So Happy New Year guys!!! Hope you all had a very merry Christmas and Hogmanay. I had a little bit of drunken drama myself but we’re all good now :) . So 2011 was a good year for me, graduated University with a 1st in Fashion Business, started the blog and as for 2012, well its all change. Moved into the new flat, start my new job tomorrow, got myself a new romance (early days yet though) and my Vancouver move is still very much full steam ahead.

In the spirit of new beginnings I thought I would share with you my New Years outfit and also my first EVER outfit post. I was spending New Year in the pub so I wanted to go for something casual, with flat warm shoes for the walk home.  I’m getting very sensible in my old age! I’ve debated over the old outfit post for a while now. Took me ages to find a spot to set up the camera, I’m far too embarrassed to ask friends to take pictures of me. I’m not your typical fashion student, my style varies and living in an old tenement I spend most of my time in my dressing gown and joggers. However, one of my new year’s resolutions is to take more pictures so hopefully there will be lost more to come.

Hope you enjoy :)

Scottish Bloggers Christmas Meet

I think I might just be one of the last attendees to blog about yesterdays Scottish blogger meet but I had such a great day that I couldnt not talk about it. I went against the number one rule you’re taught as a child and met up with a group of strangers. Although after an initial breaking of the ice it truly felt like I had known some of the girls forever! It was so nice, not only to meet new people that you may never have met through conventional methods but also to chat about blogging, something we all mentioned we don’t really do with our own friends and families.

I met the lovely Gillian and Lauren at Waverley station and was instantly put at ease. We made our way through to Glasgow where we met the event organisers Charlene and Rani. Once all the fellow bloggers arrived we all made our way to the Thrill Rooms, a little hidden gem above Rox jewellery shop. Where we sipped on champagne and ate the most delicious little cupcakes, yummy!! It was then time for a bit of retail therapy and a trip to the Christmas market; well we are fashion bloggers after all. From the stories on Twitter I hear it turned into quite an eventful night, however, Lauren, Rani and I missed out as we took our tired wee bodies back to Edinburgh.

I had such a great day and hopefully made some genuine new friends that I hope to meet up with again very soon.  I must say a massive thanks to Charlene and Rani for organising such a fantastic day!!! Can’t wait for the next one :D

Home Sweet Home

So I hold my hands up, I’m guilty of committing blogger neglect! What with moving into the move flat and getting settled in my poor little blog has been forgotten about. But, I am happy to announce that I’m back. After attending yesterdays Scottish blogger meet (post to follow) I was given the much need inspiration to spur me back into action. So what have you missed, well I turned 25, had a lovely day! Woke up to my best flatmate making me a beautiful champagne breakfast followed by a trip to the newly opened Edinburgh Primark, coffee and cake in Eteaket, dinner with the family and drinks with friends.  Got some lovely presents, the ring and earrings are from http://shop.loveheartsandcrosses.co.uk/, the slippers from boots and the watch is a Nixon from http://www.freezeproshop.com/.

Also, as mentioned I moved into the new flat and have been obsessed with getting my room to feel more like home.  I’ve recently bought a few things and brought a few bits and bobs from home and it’s now starting to take shape, hopefully get a few more things for Christmas but here is how it’s looking so far.
